St. Patrick's Day is just around the corner! I'm so excited to share my newest piece with you, "Too Ra Loo Ra Loo Ral", inspired by my amazing friend, Mary Ellen Raymond. Mary Ellen's maternal and paternal grandparents all immigrated from Ireland to New York. While growing up, she welcomed Irish cousins to the US as they came to the US in their grandparent's footsteps.
When she began a family of her own, one of the ways that she continued to share her heritage with her children is through singing the lullaby, "Too Ra Loo Ra Loo Ral- That's An Irish Lullaby" to her kids at every night at bedtime. Mary Ellen is a beautiful soul who is generous, kind, and loving. I feel so lucky for the opportunity to create art from her inspiration.
